Plumb Bob
This plumb bob, ca. 1868, belonged to George Turnbull, a machinist at the Gartshore Foundry, and was later used by his son “Geordie” Turnbull. Geordie worked at Bertram & Sons for 73 years, from the time he was 13 (1865) to the time he was 86 (1937). He died of a heart attack at lunch hour while still working at the factory as their oldest employee.
